Buck Lally

President

Buck has lived in the Cypress area for 20 years. In this time he has always worked with youth in the area, either through coaching youth sports or teaching at Cypress Creek High School. He is the Key Club sponsor at his school, and is also a Regional Advisor for the Texas Oklahoma Key Club District. He loves using volunteering and service to instill leadership in kids and to encourage them to become active and positive members of their communities. Buck is married to his beautiful bride of 18 years, Christine, and they have 2 amazing kids. They love the Cypress area and want to use Kiwanis as a way to make their community great for years to come.

CHristine Lally

Secretary

In her professional career, Christine has worked with companies in a variety of industries to build Internal Audit and Compliance departments.  She is a Certified Internal Auditor, a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.  Most recently, Christine was the Chief Audit Officer at Volta Charging before their acquisition by Shell USA and currently is the Director of Internal Controls & Compliance at JB Poindexter & Co.  An Ohio native, Christine migrated south to Cypress over 20 years ago.  In recent years, she has volunteered with the Cypress-Fairbanks school district, Junior Achievement and the Prince of Peace church.  Christine is married to her loving husband, Buck, and they have two children that have thrived in the Cypress area.  Christine was a recipient of a college scholarship from her Ohio hometown Kiwanis Club and wants to create similar opportunities for the kids in her current hometown.

MIke avant

Treasurer

Michael has lived in the Houston/Cypress area his entire adult life. He and his wife raised 4 kids that all went to Cypress Creek High School, just like he did. Mike has two different business degrees and has been a CPA for a long time. Mike says that when Buck Lally called and said he needed help starting a new Kiwanis club in Cypress, he and his wife both immediately agreed to join and help. He was the chapter President at Baylor for Circle K (the college version of Kiwanis), so he knows what Kiwanis is all about. The Avant family has always felt the calling for volunteering. His wife and daughters have all been in the National Charity League, his wife was in the Junior League, and he volunteered as a baseball and soccer coach for years.  All Avant children have done many mission trips through their churches. With all that being said, Kiwanis Club of Cypress Texas is another great way to help his community.1

Mike Lancaster

Board of Directors

Mike has been married to his wife, Kassie, for 30 years and they are extremely proud and amazed with their 3 sons and their accomplishments. They have lived in Cypress for 23 years, and have always felt it was important to give back to the underserved youth in their community. As Mike said, “These kids are our future leaders; it’s important to help develop them through service, education and leadership development through Kiwanis.” Mike and his family have also completed several mission trips with their kids as members of their church.

Kimberly Stelly

Board of Directors

Kim is a native of south Louisiana but is happy to call Houston her home. She has been a high school English teacher since 1997 and a teacher at Cypress Creek High School since 2003.  As an educator, she has the privilege of working with amazing teenagers who have inspired me to give back to my community. She says she joined Kiwanis because this organization and its members are committed to helping our community’s youth. She is most excited about this club’s work with local Key Clubs and its focus on helping those with less access to food and housing.
